First Semester Almost Done

Two Weeks Two Days until I go home for the Christmas Break!!! I can't wait to see the house which now has the dry wall in, the kitchen window installed, doorknobs in place, and plaster on the north wall! And I'll get to see Khova, and Hektor, and Lucy....oh, and Mom and Sarah!! It will be grand! Ahh, to be at the new home-place for a few short weeks with the only insane people I can make any sense of!

The Temple which is just South of Campus, about a five minute walk up the "hill" (which is actually a shield volcano). I see it every day, and get excellent views of it when I go to the Ricks building (the math department, a.k.a Devil Building).

This is a very large chunk of Basalt, an igneous (or volcanic) rock which is used as decoration all over campus as it is very prevalent underneath us because of the volcanic history of the area. Can you tell that I am a Geology Major? Basalt is a black rock and the white that you see is where water evaporated and left behind a calcium deposit while still underground and it is called calcification. I think I have that right, don't quote me.

First Thanksgiving Away

This is my first real holiday away from home (I don't consider Halloween a real holiday). I am the only roommate left in my dorm for the week which is nice, I can concentrate on my research paper I have to write and I have the whole place super clean and no one else can make it dirty, so it stay clean all week. Happy Day!! For Thanksgiving Dinner I will be going over to the home of a family I know here in town. Hmm, there's not a lot going on with me right now, just school.

Whoops!

It's been awhile since I have been on here, guess I've been busy. Who knew was capable of such action! I bought a plant the other day. The Amaryllis is my favorite flower so I had to get it, plus I have been wanting a living plant in my dorm for awhile now.
